The State of SQL Server Availability: A 2017 Update

  • In-Person @ CodeNode (Skillsmatter) London, Greater London, United Kingdom (map)
  • 18:30 - 20:30 UTC
  • Language: English

In September 2015, I delivered the talk “What’s New for High Availability in SQL Server 2016 and Windows Server 2016” to the London SQL Server User Group. It was a preview of those as-yet-to-be-released versions. A lot has changed in 18 months. Both SQL Server 2016 and Windows Server 2016 have shipped, and there are more new features and capabilities that were not able to be discussed then, such as Distributed Availability Groups. This talk will get you up to speed with what’s new, what’s changed since 2015, and more importantly, provide a window into SQL Server v.Next which is already in public previews.  The talk includes the availability story for SQL Server on (gasp!) Linux and demos where possible. Bring your burning SQL Server availability questions, and join me for a not-to-be-missed session.
